At the National Gallery of Scotland, we were commissioned to design, manufacture, and install three bespoke sets of premium built-up stainless-steel lettering as part of a wider signage enhancement project at their iconic site on The Mound.
The first set of letters were installed directly onto the main gallery building, providing a clean and contemporary identification point that complements the historic façade. The second set was positioned on the opposite end of the visitors entrance at height, to increase visibility from street level and guide visitors towards the entrance. The third sign was located at the top of the stairs to signal the entry way down towards the museum.
This installation incorporated warm white illumination, creating a subtle, eye-catching glow that enhances readability throughout the day and into the evening.
Together, these three signage features elevate the gallery’s external presence while remaining sympathetic to the character and prestige of this landmark location.
